奈良の五重塔が修復工事

The five-storied pagoda of Kofukuji temple in Nara will undergo large-scale repairs for the first time in about 120 years starting in July.  As the work on the tower, a national treasure that has withstood earthquakes, typhoons and other disasters, is scheduled to be completed in 2031, its architectural splendor will be hidden from public view for some time.

奈良の興福寺にある五重塔の修復工事が7月、120年ぶりに始まる。台風や地震などの自然災害にも耐えてきたこの国宝の修復工事は2031年に完了する予定だが、その間その建築上の美観は大衆の目に触れないことになる。

今回のポイント：

氷点下：華氏を使っている国ではbelow zeroでは伝わりにくいかも→below the freezing point。もちろん、zeroではだめというわけではないが…。
